My coffee story began with mi abuelita during summers of school break and our tianguis runs. I would come to México and she would wake up early to make the first cup of coffee. Regardless of how busy our family was, a cafecito con pan dulce moment was always waiting to happen. I recall those mornings I did not want to get out of my bed and once the aroma sneaked into the room, there I ran and begged mi abuelita for a cup of coffee. That first sip was heavenly and made our home feel like a place of belonging for me (of course it involved a little sugar and milk). This is where Juntos Podemos came to be for me. I wanted to start a company where people could come together and feel like they belonged and felt community regardless of their backgrounds. Bringing folks together through a cup of coffee and embrace the power of unity.
